Larry June's Thank You Jacka

Some early Larry June to cap off your day with is never a bad thing. This particular song is from Larry’s time on a major label and it’s easily a precursor to the sound we hear with his many releases since. This also is a nice callback to the very legendary Bay Area rapper The Jacka of the Mob Figaz who was shot and killed on February 2, 2015. Larry lineage comes from rap as his father was a rapper and the Bay Area in general has always been an important area of representation when it comes independent music and hip-hop. We hear alot about Too $hort and E-40 but Master P roots start in the Bay Area and are far reaching, a small bit of internet research will do you good. This song is important in the evolution of one of the cornerstones of the Bay Area as Larry would get real experience on the pitfalls of a Major label and eventually move into his own lane. We’re thankful he made his way into that lane and cruising down the street has been all the better. Good Job Larry.
