Digital Jihad

The year is 2022, and degeneracy has reached its absolute maximum. How would one explain the current state of affairs to an ancient man, or better yet, an alien? How much self-remorse would course through your body as you detail the intricacies of the latest tik tok dance to a grey alien, with his gaunt body and large, soulless eyes staring through you? The simple fact is that humanity is in a state of outright regression, reversing a multi-millenia trend of advancement that we have been undertaking.

For some background, I am very much a believer in the writings of Julian Jaynes. Jaynes unknowingly created a treatise on the NPC, and wrote the down the framework by which they operate. His book ‘The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind’ shows how the state of NPC is not just psychological but also a biological phenomenon. His argument is that early humans had no such thing as free will; rather they were commanded by themselves to do their everyday tasks. Essentially a subconscious force that could not be resisted guided each and every person in what they should be doing at any given moment. At the scale of an entire society, these ‘voices’ coordinated such that large scale efforts could be made. It is plausible to Jaynes that a small number of elites where ‘conscious’ in the way most of us are, but the masses certainly were not.

All this changed in the bronze age collapse. This was the greatest event to take place in human history. During the collapse a mysterious group referred to by the Egyptians as the ‘Sea People’ invaded the entirety of the Near East, destroying everything that they came across. Millions became refugees, migrating anywhere but where they came from. Every major empire was destroyed. According to Jaynes, in this carnage, with millions moving about the planet, encountering others who spoke entirely foreign languages, the human consciousness as we know it was born. People for the first time in modern human history were forced to think for themselves. Following this event was the greatest flourishing of culture the world had yet seen.

What happened during those years was a language acceleration. Humans that typically remained in their own villages for the entirety of their lives were suddenly spread across the globe, forced to encounter fellow humans. Out of this came the single greatest innovation of humanity’s existence. Digital acceleration will happen in the same way. The old empires, seen as timeless and immutable, will crumble in the face of external pressures. In its place at first will be chaos, which eventually will settle into new patterns of human organization previously unseen.

We can see via the various outrage of boomers at what is poasted on the internet that they are in fact digital NPCs. There is a simple rule of the digital revolution, that many cannot compute: nothing you see is “true”. Some understand this fact while others do not. It is not entirely related to age, as some younger people exhibit the same shortcomings as the boomer. But ultimately everything seen online must be seen as a shitpost (including this poast). Many are simply not built for this. Others are able to adapt, whist the youngest generation are already used to it. We are waging a digital Jihad, to oust those that cannot comply with the purity standards of the future. To accomplish this, one must continually poast; it does not matter whether the content is true, relevant or useful.

The unconscious NPC that is described by Jaynes in his book no longer exists. For better or worse, they have woken up, and claimed their right to think for themselves. A new dichotomy came to replace what once was. Today we are not watching the death of the NPC but the destruction of the normie. Normies pervade all levels of society, in much the same way that NPCs did during the Bronze Age. The normie is an interesting beast; he is a reader of headlines, an enjoyer of products, and a supporter of the current thing. This is not meant to be a political statement, by the way. Normies come in all shapes and sizes. Attaching oneself to a particular platform does not cure normiedom. Normies simply think that the status quo is good and that they will continue to subsist as long as it is maintained.

Today we wage a war against the normie. The only way to succeed at their expense is to create a flood of information. This is exactly what has been happening for years already. Crypto presents another interesting tool to accomplish our goals, as the ability to financialize everything opens a new front. Now, not only must one cope with the flood of information itself, but a flood of value as well. In this environment the normie short circuits. Ironically, if you take anything written here seriously you are not part of the solution.
