Injective and its work on the Cosmos Hub

What does Cosmos Hub mean for blockchain?

All blockchain networks are focused on the Cosmos Network, and Cosmos Hub is the Cosmos Network hub that manages all asset transfers and communication between the two networks.

In essence, you can think of it as a highway connecting cities or states; this is how Cosmos Hub facilitates communication between blockchain networks.

Why a Cosmos network?

The Cosmos network fills the gap left by the lack of a network that allows networks to connect, connect to each other and, most importantly, share assets.

How does Cosmos Hub connect two networks?

IBC (Inter Blockchain Communication) is the protocol used in Cosmos networks.

Regardless of the unique consensus mechanism of each network, the task of the IBC protocol is to transmit messages between networks.

Although each network has its own consensus method, IBC distributes messages and completes transactions without interfering with the algorithms used by individual networks.

When developing DAOs and DApps, which require cross-blockchain transactions, blockchains can communicate with each other thanks to IBC.

Consider a situation where you have bitcoins on a Bitcoin network and a social media platform on another blockchain network. With the ability to transfer assets and communicate between networks, the IBC now makes it possible to make purchases on social networks using bitcoins.

How does the Cosmos Hub IBC operate?

Cosmos Hub serves as a central hub for connecting multiple blockchains within the Cosmos Network to conduct Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC).

A blockchain in the Cosmos Network can communicate with another blockchain by sending messages through Cosmos Hub. These messages are transmitted through a group of relays, which are nodes that specialize in transmitting communication between multiple blockchains. Regardless of the operating system or consensus algorithm of the sending and receiving blockchains, the relays ensure that messages are reliably and securely transmitted.

Cosmos Hub verifies the integrity and authenticity of communications using a mixture of cryptographic algorithms, including hash functions and digital signatures, to ensure security. A set of validators or nodes that participate in block validation and are responsible for keeping the network secure and reliable are also used by the Hub.

Cosmos Hub's approach to IBC is designed to increase flexibility and interoperability between the various blockchains connected to the Cosmos Network. Hub creates a more collaborative and scalable ecosystem that can support a variety of decentralized applications and use cases, offering a secure and reliable means of messaging and transacting between blockchains.

But since it's easy to understand, I won't go into detail.

How does Cosmos Hub create blocks for its network?

On the Cosmos network, blocks are simply created every few seconds by the Tendermint consensus engine, which also supports network consensus.

This is the absurdity, or so-called axis of network operation.

What is the Cosmos SDK and other Cosmos Network products?

Cosmos offers the Cosmos SDK tool for building blockchain networks.

With the Cosmos SDK, which is a blockchain development framework, developers can easily create unique blockchains that are compatible with Cosmos Network. It offers a modular architecture that allows developers to choose which modules to use in their blockchain, greatly increasing its customizability and flexibility.

Some of the outstanding features of the Cosmos SDK include:

A flexible architecture that allows programmers to add or remove functionality as needed. A programmable consensus mechanism that can be customized to the requirements of the blockchain. A flexible decision-making process involving stakeholders. An integrated stacking mechanism that pays validators to protect the network. The ability to communicate with other blockchains via the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol.
