The Long Way Home by Mason London

Mason London is an illustrator and animator from London, creating detailed narrative animations, record covers, and illustrations with work ranging from collaborative audiovisual loops to conceptual scenes of life’s daily occurrences.

The Long Way Home is a collaboration between Mason London and musician Kiefer. Over the past three years, the duo have collaborated on ten animations based on music from Kiefer’s acclaimed EPs released by Stone Throw Records.

This animation is an epilogue to the series, featuring brand new visuals and music, and the first to be released as an NFT. Set decades after the other animations in the series, it depicts a moment of calm in a city where solitude is hard to come by.

AnimaToey describes Osaka not as a place but as a Takoyaki: a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter, cooked in a specially molded pan.
