Fund Raising:

  • "Cross the Ages" (CTA), a free-to-play game that features digital trading cards as non-fungible tokens (NFT), announced a $12 million seed round at an undisclosed valuation on Monday. Investors included game-focused crypto investment firm Animoca Brands, major game publisher Ubisoft, Polygon (the blockchain powering the game) and Sebastian Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox. Singapore-based CTA is headed by co-founder and Chairman Christophe de Courson, who has worked in blockchain technology and venture capital, and Chlagou, who is also the owner of game producer Pixel Heart, which has produced more than 50 games for platforms such as Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation.

  • Blur,  a NFT marketplace geared toward professional traders raised $11 million in new seed funding. This round was led by crypto VC firm Paradigm, along with  eGirl Capital, 0xMaki and LedgerStatus. Blur believe that the infrastructure has failed to keep up as monthly trading volumes hit billions, and web2 business models hold the space back with poorly aligned incentives, so the mission of Blur is to solve these problems and move the NFT space toward becoming institutional grade while increasing decentralization."
