8 Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me When I Was 18.

1. Never let rejection lead to you giving up. People have a tendency to quit at the first hurdle. The truth is you might fail 99 times before you succeed on attempt 100.

2. We all have our own timelines. Some people become millionaires at 20. Some people don't get married until 40. Some people start lifting weights at 60. There is no "right" time to do anything. Live life your own way.

3. 'Fun' is subjective. Some people need alcohol and clubs to have a good time. Some people need a book and a coffee to have a good time. Don't let anyone shame you for how you choose to enjoy yourself.

4. Become a great communicator. Very few things will make your life easier than mastering the art of conversation. This skill also transfers into the way you handle presentations, speeches, emails and phone-calls. Nip your social anxiety in the bud while you're still young.

5. Choose your circle carefully. You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Make sure those people are making your life better, not worse.

6.Appearances matter.

There are certain aspects of our appearance we can't control:

  • Height
  • Birth marks
  • Head shape
  • Facial features

The rest is up to us though.

Nothing is stopping you from getting in shape, dressing well and getting a nice haircut.

7. Travel often. If you have the money and the means then don't let anything else stop you. There's no better way of learning about this world than going out there and actually seeing it first hand. Some of your greatest memories will come from your adventures abroad.

8. Don't settle. People waste years of their life being in relationships with people they don't even love. It's usually out of habit, desperation, loneliness or financial reasons. You have a limited amount of time on this planet, spend it with someone you're crazy about.
