What You’ll Need to Complete this Task

In order to complete this task, you’ll need the following:

• An Ethereum wallet, such as MetaMask.

• Make sure your Wallet is connected to the Optimism Network (which you can switch to via Chainlist.org)

• Some ETH in your Optimism wallet to mint your NFT.

Before we Start

Quix is Optimism’s largest NFT marketplace. They seek to open up access to minting and trading NFTs while enjoying L2 savings on transaction costs. This is the marketplace where you’ll find Mirror’s writing NFTs, as well as the Quix Launchpad aimed at encouraging wider L2 usage.

The launchpad only offers access to their “Free Mint” functionality for now. This measure is in place to make sure you’re experiencing Optimism in an open and collaborative way. You can leverage these free to mint tokens to get your art in potentially hundreds of people's wallets and get a head start in the L2 NFT space. Plus, there’s always Rampp and NiftyKit if you’d like to launch a paid mint collection.

How to Mint an NFT on Quix.

Step 1 – Connect your Wallet to the Quix Platform.

Go to https://qx.app/ and click “Connect” in the top right-hand corner of your screen and sign the transaction.

Step 2 – Mint Your RabbitHole L2 Explorer NFT 

After signing in, head over to qx.app/rabbithole, you’ll be redirected to the free mint page we created specifically for this quest. You can choose which web3 branch you like the most to reflect your journey.

Step 3 – Submit the Transaction and Pay the Gas Fee.

Now it’s just a matter of clicking the “Mint NFT” button, approving the transaction, and paying the minimal gas fee on your wallet. After the transaction goes through, your brand new NFT will appear in your collection.
