It was a slow week for Music NFTs.
And this week it's a slow week for uploads.
As the music market looks to rival memecoins - gas has made collecting Music NFTs more difficult than normal.
We're big advocates for L2s at Invest in Music, and look forward to a world where you can collect an NFT for $5 and pay less than a dollar in gas.
Until then - we're going to be adjusting our Spotlight cadence.
We want every post to feel meaningful. We want our readers to feel confident in how to navigate the market and know that we are truly looking to cover the songs that make this culture so special.
Last week, we hosted our first community call to go over future governance initiative for our Invest in Music Pass holders.
While the market is in a lull, this is our time to iterate and prepare for the next chapter.

This week, we’ve been watching demotapes as he releases the rest of his EP, “with friends.”
He started unveiling the project back in March, dropping his song “the river (with pluko)” on Sound. Now he’s back with more, releasing the last three tracks over the next two weeks, “hold on” being one of them.
These drops are backed by Family Affair, a new venture by Daniel Allan seeking to help other artists bring their music onchain and make a living off their art.
