SparkDAO Industry Observation丨Stay away from these metaverse game scams

SparkDAO is an investment research group focusing on the field of digital encryption, with members distributed all over the world. We are keen to explore the underlying logic and cutting-edge tracks in the field of digital encryption. Welcome to our Twitter: sparkdao_io

Last year, Axie Infinity sparked a chain game craze in the encryption world and proved the success of Play-to-Earn games. So, now P2E games are exploding to replicate Axie's success.Of course, most projects will eventually disappear. However, in my opinion, this is just the beginning of a new era of metaverse gaming.

Projects like Illuvium and Ember Sword bring triple A games, while at high valuations, but possibly a race for L1 / L2 scalability.Play-to-earn is just one side of this growing industry, and more and more games are focused on building a powerful token economy around games, utilizing web3 infrastructure and DeFi to create unique incentive systems that engage players through entertainment and financial motivation.

Regulation is coming

Trading and speculation are basically a game in themselves. But it's also full of scams.Regulators are still trying to monitor the early wave of encryption developments. He said it was concerned about DeFi's free disorder and could release more rules this year. It's no exaggeration to say that blockchain games with DeFi capabilities will have to follow the rules.

Given that metaverse games rely heavily on gaming markets, it is also crucial to address the level of liquidity in these markets.Liquidity is the maximum amount of assets that can be bought and sold at any point in the game market. The more liquidity, the healthier the market. Therefore, liquidity is a useful indicator of the market.

The crypto gaming market includes NFT assets, and while NFT assets can be expanded into highly liquid markets for consumable in-game use, NFT assets can be used more for their rarity, often with high value but low volume.Extreme care should always be taken when handling the NFT, regardless of the circumstances.

The trap of blockchain games

1.Hacked project community

Hacking the Discord server is a way for fraudsters to target victims on a large scale. In most cases, the hackers gain access after invading the administrators / moderators.Usually usually by phishing to get administrator privileges on the target server. With this access, they can use the channels to send fake announcements, usually with fake website links and push users to execute a task.Once a user connects to a wallet and authorizes it on a fake website, it usually causes the wallet to be stolen.

2.Phishing

Pretending to be someone else has always been the first way of online fraud. On social media, users are most likely to be victims of phishing, most commonly by Discord or Twitter. It could be fake news promoting an airdrop. For whatever reason, users may be required to share some kind of information (screen, development logs, passwords, mnemonic words, etc.) or perform actions such as signing a message in MetaMask or clicking something on the site.Remember, don't do that.Fraud usually looks very convincing and getting you into minutes of false security is everything cheaters need.

3.False projects

Almost any successful project comes with quite a number of imitators, trying to entice people to buy wrongly. From time to time, users encounter a more elaborate scam-sometimes using stolen art or posing as a celebrity or reputable person.Even so, it's easy to check whether the artist or founding team is true.Remember not to make rash decisions and keep a cool head. You may feel like you're investing in a legitimate project until you realize their community is gone, your money is gone, and the tokens you just struck are now worthless. All of this illustrates the risky and unregulated nature of the NFT space.Even if you do everything right, you still risk losing your ETH.

Scamammers are creative and active in the NFT space, always coming up with new ways to exhaust tokens in your wallet, so be alert.Do not share your mnemonic words, only connect to reputable websites and review each information. If your wallet has ever been invaded, consider transferring the money to another.
