Layer 1 blockchain Ziliqa issued a document stating that the main network of Ziliqa is planned to be upgraded to version v9.2 at 16:00 on July 5th, Beijing time, and the upgrade time is expected to be about 8 hours (or as long as 24 hours). Transactions will not be processed and deposits and withdrawals are suspended.

The upgrade will introduce several enhancements and new features aimed at optimizing performance and enhancing cross-chain functionality. Among them, the key improvements are to enhance the interoperability between EVM and Scilla, and simplify the use of ERC-20 and ZRC-2 smart contracts to create, test and launch alternative tokens to facilitate seamless cross-chain interaction. Enhancements also include extended test coverage for third-party EVM contracts and full backward compatibility with all existing Scilla contracts in Scilla version 0.13.3. Additionally, the upgrade includes various bug fixes, server-side resiliency improvements, and overall network performance enhancements, introducing advanced search and tracking capabilities for developers, and expanded development platform support.
