AI Summary

Sui 8192 is a blockchain-based digital puzzle game similar to 2048. It operates on the blockchain through smart contract code and generates an NFT for each game session. Players merge blocks with the same numbers by moving them, aiming to reach the block with the number 8192. Sui 8192 embodies the characteristics of a full-chain game, with all its logic running on the blockchain, achieving decentralization, permissionless access, zero trust, transparency, collaboration, and composability.

Players need to authorize each move through their wallets and pay corresponding Gas fees. The NFTs in this game can be forwarded to other players for collaboration, and they carry potential social symbolism. Despite some existing issues, Sui 8192 demonstrates the potential of full-chain games and has attracted a substantial number of users. As the community continues to develop, the game is expected to be further improved and explored. This article provides a comprehensive introduction to the features of Sui 8192 and highlights its differences from other similar full-chain games.

Game Introduction:

Overview

Sui 8192 is a fully on-chain game written in Move language, designed with simplicity in mind. Each time a game of Sui 8192 is started, it generates an NFT, and each NFT represents a single game session. The gameplay is similar to the traditional game "2048," where the game starts with the number 2, and the objective is to merge blocks with the same numbers to eventually form a block with a value of 8192. The outcome of the game is imprinted on the surface of the NFT, so the closer your game NFT gets to 8192, the more it showcases your intellectual abilities. All actions in the game require interaction with the smart contract, and the NFTs can be transferred. This means that you can even send your game NFT to your friends to continue the game when you're halfway through.

Team Background:

Sui 8192 is developed by Ethos, the self-hosted wallet of the Sui ecosystem. For detailed information, you can refer to the official link: https://ethoswallet.xyz/about

Ethos focuses on the core aspect of empowering people with rights, and the entire product is developed around enhancing user experience. For fully on-chain games, the key challenge lies in the need for contract interaction for every action. The Ethos team addresses this issue by implementing a prepayment model.

Regarding the core team members, the official disclosure currently includes Nadia Eldeib and Jared Cosulich. From the official introduction, it can be seen that they both possess extensive experience in traditional internet product development and have achieved great success. The Ethos team has also developed applications such as EthosConnect, the game Sui 8192, and Capy.AI NFT for the Sui ecosystem.

Technical Introduction:

Ecosystem
As the game is deployed on Sui, it is programmed using the Move language.

Development Tools
To address the issue of Gas payment for every transaction that affects the user's gaming experience, Ethos Wallet provides a "Pre-Approve" feature. Players can input the pre-authorized number of transactions and the total Gas fee limit in advance, eliminating the need for signing each move.

Game Mechanics Design
Sui 8192 follows almost the same logic as 2048. Players use the directional keys on the keyboard to slide the blocks. When two blocks with the same number collide, they merge into a new block with double the original value. The numbers start from 2, and the ultimate goal is to achieve the block with the number 8192. The blocks' numbers and corresponding symbols are as follows: Air (2), Dew (4), Fog (8), Dew (16), Droplet (32), Brook (64), Stream (128), Pond (256), River (512), Lake (1024), 2048, Ocean (4096), and 8192.

Gameplay Reflections
As a typical successful Web2 game, Sui 8192's playability is well-validated, making it highly engaging. However, currently, the game lacks an economic model. Similar to other PFP (Play-to-Earn) projects, players try to get closer to the ultimate goal of 8192 through continuous efforts. Due to the rarity of reaching this goal, a pyramid effect might emerge. While many games emphasize Fi (Finance), 8192 focuses solely on Play, and it remains to be seen how well it can thrive in the current Web3 environment. Even though I paid for multiple Gas transactions at once, there is still a slight lag in the game's operation.

Game Tutorial

Step 1: Download ETHOS WALLET

Download and create an ETHOS wallet through the link bit.ly/ethos-ext. The wallet creation process is similar to other Web3 wallet software, requiring you to remember your mnemonic phrase. Transfer a certain amount of $Sui, with around 0.02 $Sui for a single Mint Gas transaction. Having 10U of $Sui should be sufficient.

After entering the official website, there are some introductions to the wallet. Swipe to the game section below, and you can see that the team has prepared three different games. Click on the first one to enter 8192.

Step 2: Start the Game by Minting NFT
**
In the Leaderboard, begin your game by Minting NFT. As we can see, it is indeed similar to 2048, with two initial numbers on the game board. Now, by pressing the "↓" key, I will merge the two 2s in the image to form a 4, and so on.

Step 3: Continuously Move the Blocks

Begin moving the blocks up, down, left, and right to continuously stack them. To enhance my gaming experience, I paid for 25 Gas transactions at once. However, despite this, there is still a waiting time after each move, making it not as smooth as the traditional Web2 2048 in this aspect.

Whenever you merge blocks to create a higher-level block for the first time, fireworks will be displayed.

Step 4: Trading & Socializing
The entire game process is relatively easy to understand. From the image below, we can see that the highest block I have currently merged is 32. This doesn't mean my game has ended; at this point, I can send this NFT to my friend for them to continue the game.

Of course, when the game is over, the higher the number displayed, the smarter the player is considered to be.
