"The founders created Ooki DAO to operate an illegal trading platform without legal liability," said Ian McGinley, director of the CFTC's Division of Enforcement. Ooki DAO is accused of illegally operating a trading platform and illegally acting as a futures commission trader. It will pay a civil penalty of $643,542 while also being ordered to comply with a permanent trading and registration injunction.
