Rehash Recap: November 2022

Over the last few months, our recaps have been a bit inconsistent as we’ve had weeks with high levels of activity and updates followed by weeks with fewer updates to share. Reflecting on past average activity levels, a monthly recap seems to be the most appropriate cadence.

Moving forward, we will publish a Rehash Recap at the end of every month with a free Rehash badge you can collect for the first 7 days after the recap is published. Not only is collecting these subscriber NFTs fun and free; doing so will also earn you future rewards in the form of airdrops, merch, governance rights, or other fun ideas we come up with along the way.

You can collect the November Rehash badge below:

Here’s the TLDR; of what we’ve been up to this month:

  • Podcasting

  • Searching for Season 4 podcast sponsors

  • Building our creator database

  • Writing project proposals

  • Growing our team

  • Rebranding Rehash

Podcasts you may have missed in November

We released three new episodes this month on DAOs and decentralized media, featuring Julia Rosenberg, Chase Chapman, Steph Alinsug, and Aaron Soskin.

S3 E9: Building the Digital City of Cities w/Julia Rosenberg & Chase Chapman

Our first episode featured Julia Rosenberg and Chase Chapman from Metropolis (formerly Orca), a new protocol for building on-chain DAO working groups. We talked all about… you guessed it - PODS - as well as their thoughts on the best DAO governance models and how DAOs are similar to digital cities.

Season 4 podcast sponsor search

This season (season 3), we partnered with podcast sponsors for the first time, and it was a huge success. We had three incredible sponsors: Lens, Avenue, and Govrn. All three projects were aligned with our values, our audience, and our creative vision.

As we wrap up Season 3 and start preparing for Season 4, we’re searching for three more podcast sponsors for the new season.

Sponsors can apply by filling out this form by December 8, 2022. On December 9, we’ll start a week-long voting period for our NFT holders to help us decide which three sponsors we should partner with.

Anyone who refers a successful applicant to us will receive 15% of the revenue generated from that sponsor.

Updates on building a service DAO

Back in September, we announced our plans to launch a service DAO in January 2023. In the last couple of months, we’ve taken several steps toward that goal.

Creator search

First, we announced a call for creators. Creators are the backbone of any content/media service DAO, so building a creator database is one of our top priorities.

At Rehash, we’re looking for web3 native creators who can produce high quality work. We don’t care about your resume - how many years you’ve been working in the field, where you got your degree from, or which big name companies you’ve worked at in the past. As long as you can show us that you have the skills to produce high quality content without much editing or guidance, you’re who we’re looking for.

Long term, we hope to be able to take in more junior level creators and provide training for them to reach a level of quality we require. Until then, we are only able to take in creators who already meet this threshold.

If you know any creators who would be interested in joining our service DAO, please invite them to apply here.

Project proposals

We’ve also been speaking with several founders to discuss potential media projects they might need help with. Going into launch with a few completed projects will help us better position ourselves with case studies and concrete examples of how we can help web3 projects with their content needs.

We still have bandwith to take on one more project before EOY. If you or someone you know has a small project you would like completed in 2022, please send us an email at [email protected].

Growing our team

Finally, we decided to bring on catjam to help us smooth out our processes and build out our governance structure in a more robust way. She has been actively involved in a number of DAOs, and we’re excited that she’s decided to share her expertise with us.

Rehash Rebrand

When we initially launched Rehash back in April 2022, we put together all the branding, logos, and NFT designs in the span of about one week. While we were very happy with how everything came together so quickly, now that Rehash has been around for 6+ months and we have a more developed roadmap and vision, we want to take a more thoughtful approach at revamping our visual brand to reflect who we are.

This month, our team has been working hard at designing a new visual brand and a launch plan for the new year. We are 90% finished with our brand kit and have started brainstorming our first merch drop in early 2023.

Our focus for December will be on finishing our brand kit, finishing our merch designs, and updating our website with our new branding. We’re hyper bullish on our new branding and super stoked to share everything with you all.

Thanks for reading, and see you next month for our final recap of the year!
