A national orchestral music “good news from Beijing to the border village” with beautiful melody and lively rhythm kicked off the performance with the joy of the people in the southwest border village. The familiar melody makes people feel more cordial. The concert brings together classics from different times and regions. The repertoire is well-known at home and abroad, including the Piano Concerto “the Yellow River”, the heroic hymn for the salvation of the Chinese nation, and the national orchestral music “thinking up”, which is full of musicians’ confidence in Chinese culture and unlimited longing for a better life. The national orchestral “sing a folk song to the party”, the simple masses use folk songs to convey their deep-rooted feelings for the party. With the Guizhou Provincial Ethnic orchestra playing songs that have been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, the performance climaxes one after another.

A “Daqu”, which draws the scene into the cycle of time and enters the ancient Dunhuang, intertwined with ups and downs of melody, is just like a long scroll of Chinese history from ancient to modern times, magnificent and immortal; The sound of the wind and the chords simulating the sound of the hula played gently to awaken the sleeping grassland. The song of green wind is another new year atmosphere with spring moistening all things and full of vitality.

It is worth mentioning that the Piano Concerto “the Yellow River” was invited to perform by Yuan Lin, associate professor and master supervisor of the Piano Department of the Conservatory of music of Guizhou Normal University. The Yellow River Concerto is based on the national salvation song “Yellow River Chorus” during the war of resistance against Japan. It uses the expression techniques of Western Classical Piano Concerto and integrates Chinese folk traditional music elements into the musical form structure. Because of its epic structure, gorgeous skills, rich levels and magnificent artistic conception, it has become the most famous Chinese Concerto in the history of world music. The familiar melody popped up, and the audience recorded this moment with their mobile phones. They waved their hands excitedly and felt this heroic hymn in their own way.

The live performance of Tainan folk song “thought rise” was also known as “Hengchun tune” because it was first popular in Hengchun area at the southern end of Taiwan. The ancestors who migrated from the mainland to Taiwan were lonely and intolerable in their daily life. Whenever they aroused infinite homesickness, they would talk to each other and their homesickness with melody. The hula, which is simulated by the wind chord, plays gently to awaken the sleeping grassland. The clattering of horse hoofs and energetic melody vividly present the scene of galloping and singing and dancing on the grassland. The song of green wind is another new year atmosphere of spring moistening all things and full of vitality.

“The Spring Festival in 2022 is coming. I am very excited and happy to hear the Spring Festival National Concert brought by Guizhou National Orchestra and Guizhou lantern theater at my home. Different from other symphony orchestras, they use a large number of traditional Chinese musical instruments such as Erhu, Pipa and flute. It’s very cool to listen to the music played by our own instruments in this Chinese Year!” Citizen Shu min told reporters.
