Jakub Rusiecki is the founder of Social Graph Ventures, a venture DAO investing in the app and middleware layer of Web3 social. Prior to that, he worked on Symmetrical, a Gen Z investment and consulting DAO, a collectible DAO, and a media NFT collectors DAO. Since joining this space, he has produced numerous videos about the creator economy.
Jakub got into crypto in 2018, around the peak. But in 2020, he finally started to understand it. Eventually, he began to contribute to various DAOs.
“If you want to go far, go together,” Jakub said about DAOs.
His current focus is Social Graph Ventures, a venture DAO.

The investment process in a DAO is different. Committed capital is representative of participants’ voting rights in the DAO. This is different from a regular VC fund, which has only a handful of decision-makers. Incentivizes also encourage being active in the DAO: helping with due diligence, contributing to deal flow, and other beneficial actions are rewarded from a special pool.
The focus is on investing in different layers of Web3 social.
In Web 2 social media, there is a lot of context collapse. You have friends from school, relatives, etc. There is hardly any piece of content that is relevant to all these groups.
Web3 Social has the potential to change this. You can have the ability to change your feed, curate your distribution, and own things. The concept of ownership is a new paradigm and can be a huge part of emerging Web3 social use cases.
“People will not come to web3 social just because it’s decentralized,” says Jakub. Instead, new social experiences will be the big new use cases.
