A culture clap is the sound of two or more cultures colliding.

While at first it may seem a train-wreck, if enough of them accumulate, a rhythm can be discerned … and eventually a melody derived … but it takes a fuck-ton of train-wrecks to reach that point … and even then it’s a crap-shoot to find a consistent beat.

Three cultures in my case: native American, Colombian-Latino and puritanical whiteness … oh my!

Moving on …

Many people are entering web3 seeking to get rich quick, or build massive communities; pfp NFT projects that raise capital, have fancy road-maps, cool engagement mechanisms, airdrops, and more …

Not me … I’m coming from the other angle, I continue to grow a small community around a small set of focused projects. Some say that there are too many projects; to which I must politely disagree. As again, most people are trying to build a product, while my interest is to build an ecosystem.

Presently I’m acting as majordomo for ecodao; employed by them as the founding project manager. As well, I teach English to fellow Colombians; and this is the basis for the work I seek to do, and for which I request your support.

But first, I need to make sure everything is legit; and that takes money!

Luckily I ran into a bit; not a ton, but enough to get started, $10,000.

And I put about $2,300 into web3, back in November :sad_face: though it’s like I tell everyone, only put in money that you’re willing to burn -- all of this is still super new!

So what does legitimacy look like?

Later we’ll discuss the parameters of a DAO, as even though the word DAO is in the name of all our branding, the work will start more as a RAO: ReCentralized Autonomous Organization.

Recentralized around an LLC in Minnesota, and soon a S.A.S., as they are called, here in Colombia.

Taking Ross’ definition to heart, reducing the connection of legal liability to a single individual, then creating a community of advisers and initial users around the individual, is the first step of a much larger strategy.

Yes, this is imposing the rule of a benevolent dictator; though these are also my ideas; and while I wish to share them, I do require that they be respected until the proper checks and balances are in place to assure their sustainability.

OMG ~ what? why? how then?

Because I want to run the gamut of international business (products AND services), and illustrate what it takes to do any of this starting from zero, or negative.

Because I have the product reach, as well as the legal capacity.

Because I want to take US income, and pay international workers.

Because I’m attempting to exist as a rebel entity on the fringes of an empire in one of the most dangerous countries in the world; we need to be legit in every way possible.

DFLDAO Product Layout

DFLDAO stands for DreamFreely Laboratories DAO; and it houses a growing collection of projects. Two of which have broken to the surface, to be made mention-able.

Learning English is a large industry. We are entering through a niche and starting to collaborate with incredible folks to expand our presence through idioke.

Learning to code is also a large industry. _buildspace, developer_dao, odyssey_dao and others are providing wonderful materials to on-board folks onto web3.

While all of these steps culminate in a project that bring together these skills, and others, to produce unparalleled opportunities for growth and payment.

Yes, payment ~ there are so many unique economic models being discovered and played with; naturally, we have our own.

DFLDAO is a clash of cultures, acknowledging the existence of capitalism, yet not allowing its presence to restrict our imaginations.

What is the work ?!

The aim is to create educational material out of nearly everything we do.

We will create products that economically replenish themselves; while compensating participants sufficiently. If we’re able to do that, everything else will fall into place.

We’re nearing the finishing stages of launch prep; finalizing a few pieces of the roadmap and preparing the Discord space for on-boarding our community. Lastly, is to touch up a few websites, and extend invitations to mint. You down ?

Financing for tax records for crypto is incredibly fluid at this time; and this is the primary reason for launching, already attached to an LLC. Structurally it makes many things financially easier, and this simplicity can be leveraged into clarity of foundational educational material. I want to do IRL things, this is all made easier by using pre-established entities.

Regarding my personal financial position; I think I have a $400 Amazon loan I need to pay back; as well as $60,000 in student loans. The student loans are all direct loans at a fixed interest rate 5-6%, can’t remember exactly. I think that if I bust my butt, I can pay that off this year. While this year is that year of opportunity.

We will explore how to remedy this using web3 intruments, ideally.

I’ve been living below the US poverty line for the entirety of my adult life. This has afforded me the ability to not always have to do taxes; and so greatly simplified many aspects of my life, in many ways. After this year, I will not have that luxury.

It is for this reason, that I hope to get in the routine of actually doing taxes three times per year. And using each of these occasions as educational opportunities to review all things business and finance.

Why am I on Mirror?

The abridged version …

Because of the audience that resides here, because of the work that Rafa and the team are doing here; because the ecosystem, the conversation and the collaboration.

Mirror is an epicenter.

And as much as I may not like the environmental cost of Ethereum; it will very likely remain as a form of currency for the foreseeable future.

If I want things to be different, I will have greater impact if I engage/participate.
