🍣銀座渡利SUSHI×ReadON📚

Intro

Hi, ReadONers! I’m Morokitch, ReadON Japanese Business Development Manager. On July 16th, I held an interview with Ginzawatari, ReadON's new marketing partner in Japan. Ginzawatari is a traditional sushi restaurant, but they have beem implementing new marketing techniques such as NFT marketing and crypto payment.

I know you are wondering “Why is ReadON collaborating with a sushi restaurant?” There are three reasons. Firstly, by collaborating with a company from a different industry, we can expand awareness of each other's brands. In particular, as Ginzawatari is one of the famous high-end sushi restaurants in Japan, we believe that ReadON can enhance its brand image. Secondly, we both have a strong interest in crypto. By collaborating, we can activate the crypto market. Thirdly, cats and fish go well together. We believe that it was destiny for cats to find their way to Ginza Watari in search of delicious fish😻🎣

Before I describe our collab details, let me briefly explain the background of the collab. On July 25-26, one of the largest crypto events in Asia, WEBX, will be held in Tokyo. To commemorate the event, ReadON and Ginza Watari have decided to hold a win-win collaborative event.
✅Ginzawatari is expected to attract customers globally.
✅ReadON can perform branding for existing/potential users in Japan.
*Aside from ReadON, I am not familiar with promising overseas projects related to the food industry in Japan

About Ginzawatari

🔻Japanese best shrimp sushi

Mr. Watanabe, head of Ginzawatari spent 10 years training as a sushi chef before opening his own restaurant three years ago. He is now considered one of the top sushi chefs in Japan. In Japan, a popular gourmet website called Tabelog ranks "Sushi-Namba" as the most popular sushi restaurant. However, in a TV show in April, Mr. Watanabe competed against the chef of Sushi-Namba in a cooking battle and won with a perfect score of 5-0. By the way, the dish he made during the competition was shrimp sushi. If you order a set menu at Ginza Watari, you will have the best shrimp sushi in Japan!

🔻Excellent Atmosphere for Sushi

Furthermore, Ginzawatari places great emphasis on the interior design of the restaurant. The counter is made from a 350-year-old hinoki tree that took 15 years to dry. From that same hinoki tree, Mr. Watanabe also made a cutting board on which he demonstrates his delicate knife skills, and there are decorations such as indirect lighting made from Kyoto washi paper. Every detail is carefully crafted to create an atmosphere that allows customers to fully enjoy their sushi experience.

🔻Online Marketing

In modern times, many people first search for restaurants they want to go to on the web before making a reservation. In other words, the most important aspect of restaurant marketing is to gather impressions online and attract customers. Mr. Watanabe thought that if he created a famous YouTube channel and gained followers before opening the real restaurant, it might be easier to attract customers and create a cash flow. As he continued to post videos on YouTube, the number of his followers grew gradually, and his channel, "Ginza Watari," which had a fictional sushi restaurant name, surpassed 190,000 subscribers. This unprecedented event in the sushi industry gained attention even before he opened his own restaurant.
By the way, his YouTube channel, Ginza Watari, is also featured on ReadON. If you're interested, check out the video :

🔻NFT Marketing

There is a company in Japan that provides NFT marketing solutions called SUSHITOP. It's cliants are usualy large campanies such as advertising companies and railway companies. But it approached Ginzawatari to utilize NFT marketing to enter into food industry. This is how Ginzawatari started NFT marketing.
One successful example of NFT marketing is the sale of electronic tuna NFTs, which offer utilities such as advertising rights within Ginza Watari's restaurant and participation rights in SUSHITOP's New Year's party. Last year, it was sold for 5,000 MATIC(5772U), and this year, it was sold for 0.7 ETH although we're in the bear market. From marketing perspective, it has a high promotional effect. Real-tuna-auctions held in the beginning of the year always make the news in Japan because the first auction of the year for tuna, prices can range from $200,000 to $2 million! So the topic of electronic tuna campaign held in the same time also generates buzz and has a high promotional effect.
In addition, I'd like to mention that Ginza Watari is one of the rare restaurants in Japan that accepts crypto payments. It is possible to make payments using $SUSHI tokens, the governance token of SUSHISWAP, and the store can receive the revenue in stable coins. Even if you run out of cash during your trip to Tokyo, you don't have to worry about it. Please visit Ginza Watari and enjoy sushi with cryptocurrency, haha.

Closing

I would like to collaborate with many other companies and projects besides Ginzawatari to continue raising awareness of ReadON. Please look forward to the story of ReadON's expansion into the Japanese market in the future.
